Yoga for Back Care w/Nikhil Ramburn Sunday 2/3

"Sore back this winter? Learn Yoga to ease back discomfort"

This workshop will focus on a sequence of postures that increases flexibility and range of motion in the shoulders and spine. By bringing awareness to areas in the body that feel "stuck" we become more resilient but also more receptive to the world around us. Restriction in the back often indicates a lack of focus and clarity; so as we restore flexibility and movement to the spine, we find our decision-making capacity enhanced.

Beginners and those with back pain will learn techniques to safely practice yoga postures. More advanced practitioners will find ways of deepening their practice by engaging support that transcends the mechanics of the muskoskeletal system.

This workshop is open to practitioners all levels.
Nikhil blends traditional yogic wisdom with embodied western anatomy to encourage his students to inquire deeply into the body-mind connection.

3 Great Workshops this Weekend! Feldenkrais, Systema & Bellydance/Yoga Fusion

This weekend, January 26th and 27th, we're gearing up for some great workshops!
Feldenkrais, Systema and Bellydance/Yoga Fusion!!

Saturday, January 26th: 1-2pm Intro to Feldenkrais w/Uwe Mester
Come and join Uwe for a special introductory Awareness Through Movement® class that is suited for everybody. Anyone --young or old, physically challenged or physically fit -- can benefit from the Method.

The Feldenkrais Method® is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and directed attention to improve movement and enhance human functioning. Through this Method, you can increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement. These improvements will often generalize to enhance functioning in other aspects of your life.

Sunday, January 27th: 4:40-6:30pm: Bellydance/Yoga Fusion w/ Sila Rood
The fusion of these two ancient arts come together in a powerful practice. We will dance, let loose, and let our wild sides take over- because that's the side of us that knows best after all. Tantric yoga and bellydance are gifts from our ancestors that have helped me work through the blockages in my own life, making transformations in my spirit and physical body that I never though possible. I'd like to share these practices with you in a way that I believe compliment each other very well. There are many stories rooted in the lower chakras of the body: about tribe, family, sexuality, creativity, and personal confidence. Whether you approach this journey with light heartedness and curiosity, or with hesitation and weariness for the unknown, everybody is sure to discover something beautiful about themselves. Within a tribe full of like-hearted women, we find the support that we need to make these transformations in a safe space. Join us for a fun day of exotic rhythms, and write a new story of joy for your body to hold within itself!
